Drone Flight Workshop, Part 2 of 3

February 8th 1-3pm at South County Community Center

Join us as we embark on another exciting STEM adventure, this time with drones! In part 1, we taught fundamental principles of flight and design and explored the function of each part of a drone. Now, students will build their own micro-drone kits in the classroom as our teachers break down the concepts and help them through the building process. In part 3, the students will fly their drones under the guidance of our drone flight-certified staff. You do NOT want to miss this one!

Coding with Scratch

In this event, hosted at the Montgomery County Community Center on Lake Robbins Dr., students were taught basics of object-oriented programming with a popular block-based language called Scratch. They then were guided by our staff to create their own simple games with the language. Many students created some truly remarkable, action-packed game levels!

Hack Summer Creek 2024

At Hack Summer Creek, STEM Horizons brought an exciting and impactful event to over 40 students, offering them the chance to compete in a thrilling Jeopardy-style game focused on computer science and engineering challenges. Each team was guided by a mentor who provided personalized instruction. This hands-on experience introduced them to potential career pathways in technology from software development to science and engineering. The event was a tremendous success, and as a result, we are proud to have established a lasting partnership with Humble ISD, ensuring that more students will have access to future opportunities and experiences in STEM education.
